Power of Words- Can Make or Break!

Someone has rightly said, “First weigh, then say.” If you really wish to know what can go wrong if the words are not gauged before their application, just throw a glance at the following sentences:

Here are the extracts of some leave/absence request letters written by the employees:

An employee applied for casual leave in the following manner:

"Since I've to go to the cremation ground at 11 o'clock and I may not return, please grant me one day casual leave."

Another employee kept his request as:

"As my father-in-law has expired and I am only one responsible for it, please grant me 20 days leave."

A leave letter to the Principal:

"As I am studying in this college I am suffering from headache. I request you to leave me today."

XYZ Enterprises, Delhi: An employee applied for leave as follows:

"Since I have to go to my hometown to sell my land along with my wife, please sanction me two weeks leave."

So, beware! All depends upon the careful usage of words while communicating! Once the art of “WHAT”, “WHEN”, and “HOW” to speak/convey is known, things flow smooth, without being caught in jams/roadblocks of misunderstanding or ambiguity.
